The Best Summer Up-Do’s to Keep Cool While Using Clip-In Extensions

Summer and updo’s go together like peas and carrots. Ok, so that was a weird analogy but with the days heating up and the merciless humidity, you gotta know how to give yourself a good updo! Sure, you could throw it up in a messy bun and call it a day but why not put in a little more effort this summer? Between Estelle’s Secret clip-in extensions and these easy, quick, and sexy updo’s, you’ll be ready for those hot and humid days ahead.

Princess Braid

You now have the perfect hairstyle for a summertime cocktail party or to spice up an everyday outfit. The princess braid adds a touch of elegance and softness while keeping all that gorgeous hair from sticking to the back of your neck. For this style, simply gather your hair into a low ponytail in the back. Next, braid the ponytail and place an elastic band at the end to keep it from unraveling. Now, loosen up the braid and the hair on the top of your head to give it that extra volume and messy look.

Guide the braid around your hairline securing it with hairpins as your go. Once you get to the end of the braid, tuck the end so it is not visible and secure it with a hairpin. Final touches include pulling out a few hairs here and there, shaping the braid to your liking, and adding a spritz of hairspray. The key to accomplishing a ravishing princess braid is keeping it loose for a full appearance.

Tucked and Bumped

Talk about simplicity! With this gorgeous do all you need is a flattering scarf or thick cloth headband. First things first, go ahead and put your scarf or thick band of choice on around your head. Keep in mind, it should fit securely around your head.

Next, all you have to do is either finger comb or use a wide-toothed comb to bring your hair to the back or side, whichever you prefer, and tuck your hair underneath hiding the end of your hair. Now, if you have long hair you may need to put it in a very loose ponytail and tuck it underneath following along under the scarf. Once you get that done, use your fingers or a pick and shape the resulting bump to your liking. Finish this look off with hairspray to keep your bump looking its best!

Braided Bun

So, this is a fun spin on your typical bun and it can go anywhere on your head that you want. Start off by creating a ponytail where you will want your braided bun to go. Now, braid your hair all the way to the end and secure it with your handy dandy elastic band. You can get the bun in one of two ways.

First, you can wrap the hair guiding it along and placing hairpins in to secure it in place all the way to the end of the braid. The second way is by twisting the braid around until it starts to curl around on its own. As it curls, hold it in place and when you get to the end, apply as many hairpins as needed. Add any accessories or ribbons for a splash of summer fun and you’re all set!

All of the above styles take less than 10 minutes and will keep you feeling cooler all summer long. Loose updo’s like these can also help in keeping your clip-in extensions from getting damaged and dry due to prolonged sun exposure, sunscreen that you apply to your neck area, and of course, sweat.

If your hair is a bit too short for any of the styles mentioned don’t forget that Estelle’s Secret clip-in extensions can provide you with thicker, longer hair in a matter of minutes! Also, don’t forget to subscribe to stay up-to-date with our latest products and tutorials. See you again soon!
