How to: Highlight & Lowlight Your Hair using Hair Extensions

In today’s hair tutorial, we show you How to Achieve Highlights and Lowlights Using Clip in Hair Extensions. So, if you simply don’t feel like committing to a hair color yet, this might be for you.

Apart from the instant length and volume achieved, clip in hair extensions can also be used to add dimension to your hair. It’s a great way of adding hair color (highlights and lowlights) to your hairstyle without dyeing you own hair. Also, this method is less damaging to your hair.

In this hair tutorial, we’re using the 16 inch set in the colors Dirty Blonde 18, Caramel Blonde 27, and Chocolate Brown 4. However, you don’t have to use this specific set or three different colors of hair extensions to achieve highlights or lowlight in your hair. Choosing one color (a darker or lighter shade) in any of our sets works just as fine.

A Quick Tip is to brush between each weft applied for a better blend. You can also straighten the hair as you go to better blend the clip in hair extensions with your own hair.

ABOUT THE CLIP IN SET: The 16 inch set is perfect for thin hair, short hair, or if you’re just looking for more volume. The 120 gram Estelles Secret clip-in hair extensions is the smallest set that we offer and it gives you that extra volume you’ve always dreamed of. It comes in a 7-piece package that is incredibly easy to apply and has been specially designed to cover a full head.
