Fall is a time for change. Leaves changing colors, tank tops to hoodies, iced lattes to pumpkin spiced, you get the idea! It’s the perfect time to switch up your hairstyle too, don’t ya think?! I have two quick, easy, and cute hair knots to show you that are ideal for back to school, work, or just for a nice change. Half-up, Half-down styles are really great because you can leave hair out but it’s not really in the way of being productive and getting things done! Adding a creative knot to your half and half style makes it even more fun and sassy. Try these styles out with your natural hair or using our beautiful clip-in hair extensions.
Also, both of these styles can be done with straight hair but I think they look even better with slightly curly or wavy hair, it just adds a little more volume and elegance.
- Your choice of Estelle’s Secret Clip-in hair extensions set already applied
- Elastic band
- Small elastic band
- Hairspray
LOOK #1: EASY HALF-UP PONYTAIL
STEP 1:PART YOUR HAIR
Part your hair from ear to ear.
STEP 2:BRUSH IT SMOOTH
Ok, now brush the top section of your hair into a nice, smooth ponytail and put your elastic band on.
STEP 3:MAKE A SPACE
Pull down the elastic a few inches so you can make a space above the elastic right in the middle.
STEP 4:PULL THROUGH LOOP
Now, loop your ponytail over and through that space, you made above the elastic band.
*pull your ponytail nice and tight!
STEP 5: HIDE THE ELASTIC
Let’s hide that elastic band. Take a small section of hair from one side of your ponytail and loop it over and through the same space above the elastic.
STEP 6: LOOP-DE-LOOP
Bring that same piece of hair to the other side of the ponytail and loop it over and through the space above the elastic again.
STEP 7: WRAP IT UP!
Wrap the remainder of that piece of hair around the ponytail underneath the elastic.
STEP 8: SECURE THE ENDS
You’re going to secure the end by attaching it to another small piece of hair from your ponytail and securing them together with a small elastic band
* hide this mini-ponytail underneath your original ponytail.
STEP 9:VOLUMIZE
Tease and fluff your ponytail and the top section of hair for extra volume.
STEP 10:FINISHING TOUCH
Finish this easy style off with a touch of hairspray!

LOOK #2: BIG KNOT HALF-UP PONYTAIL
STEP 1:LAST FOUR STEPS
Start this cool style off by following steps one through four in the previous style tutorial.
STEP 2:SECOND LOOP
After you loop your ponytail over and through the space above the elastic band the first time, you are going to do it a second time creating the appearance of a knot. Cool right?!
STEP 3: PIN IT
Keep the knot in place by placing a hairpin on both sides of it.
* use as many hairpins as you need.
STEP 4: HAIRSPRAY
Hit it with some hairspray and you’re all done!
