Selena Gomez has some of the most gorgeous celebrity hair! It’s so thick, shiny, and always slaying the hair game. One of her signature styles is messy, wild, and glamorous loose locks. This look can be deceiving because it seems like it would take forever to accomplish but with Estelle’s Secret Clip-In extensions, you can get this look rather easily. Follow the directions below to get a fuller, longer, and voluminous style in far fewer time than even Selena’s hair may have taken!
- Your choice of 22” Estelle’s Secret Clip-In Hair Extensions (comes in set of 10)
- Medium sized curling wand
- Small sized curling wand
- Hairbrush
- Salt spray
- Hairdryer w/diffuser
PART 1: APPLY YOUR EXTENSIONS
* Just as a note, to apply your extensions, you will be working with 3 parts of your hair: each side and the back half of your head.
STEP 1: START IN THE BACK
Let’s work with the back half first so go ahead and put the sides into an elastic band or clip to keep them out of the way.
* You will be using the three clip pieces for this section.
STEP 2:PART THE BOTTOM
Ok, you can start by making a part at the bottom leaving out about an inch of your natural hair, pin up the rest while you apply the first three clip piece.
STEP 3:THREE CLIP PIECE
Add your first three clip piece.
*I recommend brushing between each layer to help blend the colors and to keep the hair nice and neat.
STEP 4:ADD YOUR HAIR
Ok, lovely, go on and another layer of your natural hair.
STEP 5: REPEAT
Repeat this process until you have used all 4 three clip pieces. You got this!
* Time to move to the sides! For each side, you will be using 1 two clip piece and 2 one clip pieces.
STEP 6: SIDES!
On one side, starting at the bottom, leave out a couple inches of your natural hair.
*Style Tip:Use a mirror to help determine the best placement for your side clips. These are actually the most important because these will be framing your face and it’s also the area where most of us ladies have the thinnest hair that needs filling in.
STEP 7:TWO CLIP PIECE
Apply 1 two clip piece to your hair, don’t forget to brush between each layer!
STEP 8:ANOTHER LAYER
Add another layer of your natural hair.
STEP 9:ONE CLIP PIECE
Apply a one clip piece, then add more of your natural hair, and finally one last one piece clip.
STEP 10:REPEAT
Repeat the same process on the remaining side.
STEP 11:BRUSH AND BLEND
Brush all of your hair together blending your natural hair and extensions for a smooth and sleek look.
PART 2: TIME TO GLAM-UP UP BY ADDING SOME NATURAL LOOKING WILD CURLS!
STEP 1: SECTION THE BACK
Let’s start at the back again and section off a medium-large section of hair to curl.
STEP 2:ADD SALT SPRAY
Ok, lightly coat this section with your salt spray.
* FYI: Salt spray helps to create a matte and messy look which will help give this style a wild and messy look like Selena Gomez.
STEP 3:MEDIUM BIG WAVES
Make a medium big wave using medium sized curling wand wrapping your hair horizontally around the curling wand and sliding it down.
* Oh, there’s no need to hold the curl to cool, go on and release it.
STEP 4:TIME FOR SALT SPRAY
With the next section of hair, use your salt spray again.
* Use your salt spray on each section of hair.
STEP 5:SMALL CURLER
Curl this section using the smaller size curling wand.
STEP 6: SWITCHING
Continue to curl your hair all over switching between the medium sized and small sized curling wand.
STEP 7: DIFFUSER TIME!
Once all of your hair is curled, use the hair dryer with the diffuser attachment and lift large sections of hair into the diffuser.
STEP 8: WORK THE ROOTS
Also, work the roots of your hair into the diffuser in an upward fashion.
* This will help create a great messy look full of texture and volume!
STEP 9: FINISHING TOUCHES
When you reach your preferred level of wildness, your messy and sexy look is complete!
